Program

Mid-day meals

The Nila Seva Samithi runs a vital mid-day meal program at three government hospitals, aimed at supporting not only underprivileged patients but also the dedicated healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and staff. This initiative serves nutritious, wholesome meals to individuals who may otherwise struggle to access food, particularly in times of medical need. By providing regular meals at no cost, the program plays a crucial role in alleviating hunger, improving health outcomes, and enhancing the overall well-being of both the community and hospital workforce. Through this outreach, the Nila Seva Samithi continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need, ensuring that food insecurity is not a barrier to recovery or care.

Thalachikanoridam

Nila Seva Samithi extends financial assistance to underprivileged individuals for the construction of new homes, alterations, and repairs to existing houses, helping to provide safer and more stable living conditions. Additionally, we have recently completed the construction of a hostel building to benefit tribal students, ensuring they have a safe and supportive environment to pursue their education. Through these initiatives, we aim to uplift families and communities by addressing their housing needs and creating opportunities for a brighter future, especially for the next generation of tribal students.

Deen Dayal

Nila Seva Samithi is dedicated to supporting underprivileged individuals by providing financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses. Through our efforts, we strive to make healthcare accessible to those in need, offering a lifeline to families facing medical emergencies. Additionally, we provide pain and palliative care services, ensuring comfort and dignity for patients with serious conditions. We extend our support to nearby communities, working together to make a lasting difference and improve the lives of those who need it most.

Mangalya Sahayam

Nila Seva Samithi also provides the support for marriage of daughters from underprivileged families. We understand the challenges faced by families who struggle to meet the demands of such significant life events. Through our initiative, we aim to ease this burden, ensuring that every daughter can experience a dignified and joyful wedding. By offering this vital assistance, we help create a brighter future for these families, enabling them to celebrate this important milestone with hope and happiness.

Disaster Relief

During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nila Seva Samithi, with the generous support of M/s UST, Kochi, distributed food kits to approximately 200 tribal families in the Attapady area. This initiative was aimed at providing immediate relief to those facing severe hardships due to the pandemic. Through the collaborative efforts of Nila Seva Samithi and UST’s CSR program, we were able to ensure that these vulnerable communities had access to essential food supplies during a critical time, helping them navigate through the challenges posed by the crisis.

Medical Assistance -Covid-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nila Seva Samithi, with the support of UST, took proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of various communities by distributing essential medical equipment to hospitals, PHCs, old age homes, orphanages, special homes, palliative units, and police stations. This initiative aimed to strengthen healthcare facilities and provide critical support to frontline workers and vulnerable populations during the crisis. By supplying vital medical resources, we helped ensure that these institutions had the necessary tools to respond effectively to the pandemic and continue their valuable services to the community.

Environmental sustainability

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Nila Seva Samithi, with the approval of Kondazhi Grama Panchayat, has undertaken an afforestation program to revive the Bharathapuzha River. In collaboration with UST’s CSR initiative, we have already planted around 600 bamboo plants along the riverbank. This effort aims to restore the ecological balance, prevent soil erosion, and improve the overall health of the river ecosystem. Through this project, we are not only enhancing the beauty of the river but also contributing to the preservation of the environment for future generations.
